The Touchtones were founded in 1983 by Sandy (Greenspan) Lederman and Patty Keller, becoming the first a cappella group at Cornell (other singing groups existed at the time, but none had been created with the sole intention of singing music a cappella). Starting with Swing Low, Sweet Chariot (a song we still use in our auditions today!) and Where is Love, the Touchtones began singing contemporary hits, golden oldies, and different genres of music that members loved. Our members represent almost all of Cornell's 7 colleges, and their diversity and shared love of singing is what makes the Touchtones so special.
